Heroes stay in party if player DC's
Well, I got to the end of level 2 Kathandrax HM tonight with 4 heroes, 4 players...the one player with 3 heroes, including two healers, disconnected and didn't get back. End of run, because when you zone to the next level, the heroes disappear too. I'd like it if the heroes stayed in the party even if you zone through instances, to avoid long drawn out failures like this.

Agreed. Henchies do, so why penalize other players for letting one dude use his heroes?

If you get DC or map out of a zone heroes stay with the party you were in. I use this little trick to lend my heroes to guild and alliance members all the time.

I'll sign this. It's really only an issue in dungeons which make up chained instances.
Your heroes do remain with the party as long as you remain in the same map. When you zone, you lose them. It would be nice if they remained until you warp back into a town. Ditto for capped skills!
Numa, explain how this could be exploited? We already have the ability to loan heroes to friends in large maps like UW and FOW.

I do this as well, but I too have been hit by the same problem as OP (same dungeon even, but in NM). Finished clearing the level with the heroes from my partner (which included the monks). On zoning to the next level (boss level) I had no monks with me as they were with my partner who had DCed.

If this happens then people could get a player on a noob level mission or even a high level mission and "use" his npcs. Meaning the player could join the mission/explorable area and then leave and you would keep his heroes, giving you an easier way to do the mission.

I can't think of why this wouldn't already be in place.
As for the exploit reason, I'd say that it's about time we got access to seven heroes anyways.

I've had to forfeit dungeons before when someone D/C'd and never returned. It really sucks to lose the time and effort you put into it when you can't complete it because of someone's net connection issues.

What a great idea now I can start a game using 2 accounts and if one of my characters accidentally leaves the game,I can continue with 1 character and 7 heroes.
Oh darn now I have said it I guess arenanet will not make that change, drat me and my big mouth.

I really don't see why not. I mean honestly, I can't see how this would be exploited, except it might be weird to code, because, what if it's You + 3 Heroes + 4 Henchmen and you leave? Would your h/h's be stuck in that one instance forever? I'm sure they could code around it, and I'm really no programmer or anything, but maybe there's something in it that would keep the instance up forever and waste a lot of server space? I don't know, just throwing ideas out there, because it seems so obvious, that there must be a reason why they haven't done it?

Six heroes, but yeah. That's how it can be exploited. I've been trying to do UW, for instance, and I simply can't do Four Horsemen with just three heroes. With SIX heroes it'd be a cakewalk.
Hell, I'd buy an extra account in a heartbeat just to get to use six heroes.
Whether that is a problem or not is another matter, I would certainly like to have six or seven heroes, but I don't think ANet wants this. In fact, it seems to me they're increasingly trying to force people to PUG rather than H/H, and this would be the exact opposite.

You can do that right now - what's stopping you? There's no zoning once you're in UW or FoW. This suggestion is areas like multi-level dungeons. Hell you could even use this for Slaver's and DoA as each dungeon/area is only one level, but you can't in any other dungeon, despite them being easier and non-elite. With 2 more accounts, you could even do Urgoz and the Deep with 9 heroes.
Hell, knowing all that, I'm seeing the hero limit as just a pointless feature.

You can do this. Sorry, but that's not a valid reason to not sign. I've gone into both UW and FOW before with 6 heroes. I've cleared FOW with them too, but haven't been able to do UW. I'd love to know the trick to finishing the 4 horseman with 6 heroes.
There's no need to buy a 2nd account for this either. (Unless you truly have no friends, but I doubt that). Just ask a reliable guildmate that you know has decent heroes to go with you and he can map out a minute later.
